Mobile spay/neuter clinic for underserved pet owners headed to Cornwall

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Cornwall, ON (September 6, 2018) – The Ontario SPCA and the Welland & District SPCA are teaming up to offer a mobile spay/neuter clinic to underserved pet owners to help reduce pet overpopulation in the Cornwall area.

On Thursday, Oct. 4 and Friday, Oct. 5, the Welland & District Mobile Outreach Clinic will host a spay/neuter clinic for disadvantaged pet owners. The mobile clinic will be based at the Cornwall Civic Complex, located at 100 Water St. E. Surgical services will be offered for dogs and cats and will include a basic veterinary examination, spay or neuter procedure, rabies vaccine, microchip and post-surgery “cone,” if needed. The cost will be $150 per dog of any size and $90 per cat.

Surgical exams can be upgraded to include the wellness exam for an additional $20 on top of the surgical fee. The wellness exam includes Core vaccine (DA2PPV for dogs, FVRCP for cats), one dose of deworming and heartworm testing for dogs of appropriate age.

Pet owners must register in advance on Sept. 14 between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Cornwall Civic Complex, Salon A, Lower Level. For booking requirements, please contact Amanda at 613-585-9709.
